What is R-DOG?
The Hamden Responsible Dog Owners' Group (R-DOG) is a citizens' organization, founded in August 2000. It has quickly gained community attention and support, with over 300 members and supporters to date from all parts of Hamden (and a few neighbors from local towns). It is a committee of Hamden Community Playground, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. For more information, send an email to: Veronica. Our mailing address is:

The mission of Hamden R-DOG is to promote responsible dog ownership of the more than 7000 dogs estimated to be living in Hamden. Our immediate goals are:

- to support the creation of public dog parks in our town
- to work with the town in the planning, creation, and maintenance of these parks
- to provide support for, and promote the upgrading of, Hamden's animal shelter facilities.

Through these activities, we hope to add to the amenities available to current and future residents of Hamden.

We meet sporadically and welcome new members.
